We want to have safe Playground Equipment as you look around there are many types. From the very simple to the most sophisticated of Playground Equipment.

We ne
ed these structures of Playground Equipment for our children to be safe, sturdy and to last for many years.
We must also look at the ground that the Playground Equipment sits on. You want to have a soft base under to soften the impact of when a child comes down the slide for example so they do not hurt their knees when they get to the bottom. We need to make sure all ladders, slides, canopies, walls and bars are all fasten securely so they do not loosen or come off during use.

Many many years ago there was not as much a concern for saftey as there is today. Today we must be vigilante in keeping our children safe environment and do our best to prevent any kind of head trauma.

There are different types of materials used for the structures.  You have wood, plastic, metal(bare or plastic covered or rubber covered)

Here pictured below is one form of a soft base and it is done with shredded tires. There other forms of a soft base one being  sand and the other grass.

As we strive for the safety of our chidren while having fun playing on the structures. We continue to improving on the safety of the structures, whether it is just a swing or slide or the complex Playground Equipment. They all receive the same attention to detail.

The models of yesteryear were built mostly of metal and tied together with bolts uncovered which would injure a child that would put hand or any body part against it in form of a bruise or scratches.  Also in hot sun became very hot and would cause burns. The structures of today have nuts and bolts covered with either soft plastic or rubber so there is less chance of injury..
Active Play
The slides and swings for the most part are constructed of plastics and/or rubber.  Also for less chance of injury.  Of course with the safety features of the Playground Equipment  we can't rely on the equipment alone to keep our children safe.  We must keep our eyes on them........Carpets
